Of NEELY GURMAN the director said, "We had been casting for weeks and were already two weeks past when we should have been fully cast.; We were scheduled to start shooting in about two more weeks, and we still;only had one of the five leads locked down. We had auditioned competent actors for the roles, but not the right ones, and in desperation I turned to an agent friend who put me in touch with Neely. All I can say is that Neely is a true miracle worker. Within a few days we had found the other four leads, and the proof is in the pudding - they're perfect for the parts - their performances are great - and they have raised what could have been just an average indy film to a level that it is really something worth seeing."
Neely began in the agency end of the business but quickly moved on to being a casting associate for such films as: The Whole Ten Yards (with Bruce Willis), Eulogy (with Debra Winger), Grind (with Randy Quaid); and TV MOW's such as: Say When (with Joe Mantegna), and Slow Ride (with Rosie O'Donnell); and TV series such as: One on One (UPN/Paramount), The Chronicle (Sci-Fi), City Guys (NBC), Two Guys and a Girl (ABC/Fox); and numerous TV pilots. Some of the casting directors Neely has worked with include: Lisa Freiberger Casting, Debroah Barylski Casting, Holly Powell Casting, and Patricia Noland Casting, In other words, Neely is a triple threat: a lot of experience, a lot of contacts, and a lot of talent.
Recently she has branched out on her own and been the top Casting Director on three other feature films besides The Fall of Night, including Unleased (with Jean-Claude Van Damme) and It's About Love which is currently in preproduction with a cast list that is very reconizable but as yet is still confidential.
Neely says, "Once I came on board and read the script, I was very excited to be part of such an intense process of casting this movie in such a short time."
